Betsy Walker, Ph.D., LPC
How are you tackling your life? Do you feel like a winner, applauded by an adoring crowd, cheered by a squad of enthusiastic acrobats? Perhaps you feel like you are climbing a mountain, sometimes struggling to reach a peak and sometimes sliding down a slippery slope. Or are you just trying to make it through this one day?
As a fellow human being, I have loved both the creative arts and people’s stories. Counseling became my way to combine both creativity and the human experience into what I see as the art of living. As a believer, I have hope that just as God created us to be His companions, He also has given us to each other for support and guidance.
We all need encouragers to carry on, visionaries to help us see our potential, real people to relate to our dark times and walk with us through them, and trustworthy guides when planning a future. That, to me, is my role as a counselor. I want to hear your story, help you identify your strengths, encourage you to embrace good decisions and toss out bad ones, provide potential options that will give you a life that is artfully lived. I want to help you find your purpose and embrace your victories.
Let’s jump in and tackle your life so that you are free to be the person God created you to be. I am ready and waiting to be an encourager to you.
Although I am trained in many theories, I generally employ an Integrative Approach. By doing this, I am free to design a plan that is particularly suited to the individual and his or her needs and personality. I prefer Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Existential, Solution Focused, Brief Therapy, and Feminist.
